Kirsteen Kim, Ph.D.
Paul E. Pierson Professor of World Christianity and Associate Dean for the Center for Missiological Research at Fuller Theological Seminary
Kirsteen Kim (PhD Birmingham 2002) previously lived and worked in her native UK and also in India and in South Korea, and these intercultural experiences inform her work. Dr. Kim's extensive publications include editing the Oxford Handbook of Mission Studies (2022), co-authoring (with her husband Dr. Sebastian C.H. Kim) Christianity as a World Religion (third edition 2025) and A History of Korean Christianity (2015), and writing three monographs on mission pneumatology and spirituality: Mission in the Spirit (2003), The Holy Spirit in the World (2007), and Joining in with the Spirit (2012). She led the drafting group for the World Council of Churches' document "Together Towards Life" (2012) and served on the ecumenical Edinburgh 2010 project as well as in the Lausanne Theology working group. Dr. Kim has been involved in missiological education and formation as a student or teacher since 1985 and currently leads Fuller's PhD Intercultural Studies.
